Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein took a break from her campaign Tuesday to vandalize construction equipment at a rally in North Dakota protesting the construction of an oil pipeline.
“There’s a certain kind of American people who seem to think the landscape is some kind of game board,” Price said. “When we use public lands for recreation, we’re opening them up to a very destructive group of people who think ‘public’ means ‘party.’ These sites took generations to make, and people can get in there and destroy them in half an hour.”
Years of sacred- and ceremonial-ground desecration at the Effigy Mounds National Monument in northeast Iowa disgraced the National Park Service, as did a recently sentenced former park manager who stole ancient human remains and hid them in his garage for more than two decades.
This is more proof that federal ‘protection’ of lands, resources and natural treasures, protects nothing, and actually exposes them to destruction due to vast numbers of human visitors.
