Any church which chooses to silence its message of real repentance stands for little, and probably won’t stand for long.
Many Christians have become hobbled by their faith. Dependence upon God, for some, has become a co-dependence of inaction. Such refuse to act in response to real or perceived evil, first, because they worry that if they do something bold themselves it reveals a lack of faith in God who will provide.
Mormons and other Christians find themselves in a unique position in 2012. Abroad in North Africa, Indonesia, China and other countries Christians are persecuted and killed by Muslims following the dictates of their religion to either convert or kill those who do not worship “Allah.” A convert from Christianity to Islam is rare, and so blood and injustice flow through those regions.
The great Protestant Reformers are figures indispensable to Mormons. They paved the way for scripture to be disseminated to the masses, and they challenged the Church/State. They sought to restore the church to the form and intent evident in the New Testament.
