LETTER TO AL CARDENAS: THE ACU MUST CUT TIES WITH KHAN AND NORQUIST
The following is a letter I penned in behalf of the Western Slope Conservative Alliance to Al Cardenas, President of the American Conservative Union (ACU). The ACU, for the first time, is bringing CPAC to Denver in October. CPAC is a great event and the ACU is an excellent conservative advocacy group. Our beef is with the fact that two men who support the integration of Sharia law into United States’ codes, and who have deep ties with the Muslim Brotherhood, sit on the board of directors of the American Conservative Union.
Please read the letter and explore the links I have provided. I urge all liberty groups, Tea Party organizations, and other alliances that support Constitutional government and individual liberties to write a similar letter to Mr. Al Cardenas at the ACU. His address in Washington, DC is included for your convenience.
Al Cardenas, President
The American Conservative Union
1331 H St NW
Washington, DC 20005
Dear Mr. Cardenas,
As the board of directors of the largest liberty group in Western Colorado, we extend to you a warm welcome as you prepare to bring CPAC to Colorado for the first time this October. We are a grassroots Conservative organization, and our mission is to champion individual freedom, free-market economics and Constitutional principles through advocacy and education on local, state, and federal issues. So, your decision to bring CPAC to our great state is an honor to us.
We are troubled by the fact that Suhail Khan and Grover Norquist remain on the board of directors of the American Conservative Union, and with this letter we would respectfully ask you and the ACU to cut ties with these two men.
Suhail Khan, as you surely know, has a long history of praising Islamic organizations that have strong terrorist links. He has also criticized America as a place where “Mosques are burned, and Islamic schools are vandalized.” Suhail Khan has bemoaned the “discrimination” against Muslims in the United States, despite the obvious fact that the United States is the most open and liberated nation in the world which welcomes people of all nationalities and creeds. Suhail Khan has never repudiated the man, Abdul Rahman al-Amoudi, or his terrorist activities. Khan at one time, even made the absurd comment, “There is no Muslim Brotherhood in the United States.”
Grover Norquist has attained high stature as a “tax reformer” and expert in the American tax code. Norquist, nevertheless, espouses “Sharia compliant” banking practices and has links with members of the Muslim Brotherhood as well. His association with Jack Abramoff in and of itself is sufficient to disqualify Norquist from having the honored label “Conservative.”
The evidence showing that Khan and Norquist are incongruous, and perhaps even dangerous, within the Conservative movement is exhaustive. It appears that these men, with their deep roots in the highest offices of government as well as the ACU, are fulfilling the Muslim Brotherhood directive of, “…eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”
The Western Slope Conservative Alliance is familiar with the works of Frank Gaffney and David Horowitz, among others, who have delved deeply into the backgrounds and activities of Suhail Khan and Grover Norquist. We find their body of research, publications, and public statements to be highly credible. We support Michele Bachmann and other courageous political leaders who seek to bring the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood in America to light.
Grassroots conservative groups like ours and others across America are guardians atop the watchtowers of liberty. Individuals like Khan and Norquist are driven by sentiments that are incompatible with the principles of true liberty and justice. Islam cannot be tolerated as either an equal to or a replacement for the American Constitutional form of government. The Muslim Brotherhood is an organization whose first ideology is Islam. To be sympathetic to the Muslim Brotherhood, and to claim fealty to its tenets, as Suhail Kahn and Grover Norquist do, indicates that these men are loyal first to Islam.
It is our belief that they intend to infiltrate the Conservative Movement and render it ineffective in the battle against the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood in America. Conservatives are the best defenders against those groups and ideologies determined to assault and eventually destroy the individual liberties that our American form of government provides. The Muslim Brotherhood is not a benign organization which seeks acceptance into the melting pot of American discourse. It is a configuration of groups, some violent, who seek to infiltrate and eventually control governments across the world.
The Western Slope Conservative Alliance cannot support CPAC Colorado until Khan and Norquist are asked to resign from their positions in the ACU. It is only fair that we let you know that other Conservative groups in Colorado will receive a copy of this letter, along with a note which urges them to take similar action to ensure that the ACU and CPAC have eschewed their ties with and support of individuals connected to the Muslim Brotherhood.
The Board of Directors of the Western Slope Conservative Alliance
Grand Junction, Colorado
I urge every conservative, patriot, and liberty-loving American to lobby Mr. Cardenas to relieve Suhail Khan and Grover Norquist of their duties on the ACU Board of Directors. Sharia is incompatible with a free republic, and the Muslim Brotherhood is the self-proclaimed enemy of the United States.
