Are Republicans really that gullible? Are Republicans really surprised that Obama is reneging on his commitments regarding BOTH nuclear arsenal/facility modernization AND missile defense? That he’s willing to sell America out on missile defense as soon as he no longer has to face voters again?
Sin is not simply the product of man’s evil nature. It is the stumbling block, the cruel and dispassionate tuition of error, remorse, estrangement from God and other mortals, the burning fire which refines man, and teaches his mind to adapt, change course, invent another way, improve his lot, and employ his godly nature in the process of achievement.
No longer will fiscal-only-conservatives (who are not really conservatives at all) have finally dropped their “conservative” masks and have shown their true faces. They’ve finally shown their true colors. They’ve shown they are not conservatives at all, not even fiscal conservatives, but merely libertarians who are out their to specifically gut defense.
People in the 21st Century are burdened with a moral indebtedness that may never be repaid. The cultural economy where virtue is a cheap and disposable commodity has given us decades of shattered families, poverty, corruption, and the predominance of carnal appetite. This has heaped upon the backs our children a terrible debt for generations to come. This debt will paid through of suffering, estrangement, bondage, and national decline.
Personal virtues serve as the equivalent of social, psychological, and political antigens in warding off, at the point of entry, the disease and decay which potentially strip entire populations of their identities as Children of God, and replace them with a self-imposed identities as chattel of the state.
Why does it matter to them where the axe falls? By Clancy’s own admission, the Ryan plan would cut entitlements “in order to make room for more military spending”, so if it cuts spending elsewhere, why don’t they like it? Why does it matter to them that defense spending specifically be singled out for deep cuts? Why do they want to gut defense?
As the civil war in Syria between the army loyal to President Assad and the anti-Assad rebels (including Al-Qaeda, Hamas, and the Muslim Brotherhood) continues, some politicians and columnists are calling on the US to start funneling weapons to the rebels or even to bomb Syria. They are wrong.
The War on Women has been particularly hard on Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Perhaps she should take a vacation from ______ (politics, Betty Crocker bake-offs, gravy wrestling) and call ______ (Jenna Talakova, genital akova, Richard Simmons) for a little advice on how to look like a real ______ (nematode, girl, panty liner).
But that is exactly the problem: he wants to deeply reduce America’s nuclear stockpile and eventually disarm the US completely, and he’s willing to make any concession, even a huge, unilateral one, to obtain a useless disarmament treaty from Russia, even if no one else is subject to such a treaty.
Reagan did not run for President promising to start a war with the USSR or to assassinate Brezhnev. He promised to rebuild the military, stop Soviet expansionism abroad, and pressure the USSR – militarily, economically, diplomatically, and morally – to yield and liberalize their society.
